It's finally here! We planned this trip four or five months ago, and immediately Grayson started telling everyone that, "We're going to the beach in a couple of weeks!" He even told the check-out lady at Kroger! That was a LONG couple of weeks - Haha!
We were kind of nervous about the long car ride with our historically not very good car riders, but our prayers paid off! We got off pretty much on time and had a great trip! We brought a lot of books, some books on tape, and charged up David's computer, which wedged nicely between the two front seats so the kids could watch movies.
We had invited my brother to join us, but were not very hopeful that it would work out with his work. Luckily it all fell into place so that he could join us Sunday through Thursday. We actually had it all worked out that he would fly into Birmingham around noon on Sunday, and we would just drive by and pick him up there and carry on. Unfortunately, his plane broke down and his flight to Birmingham got cancelled. Boo! They re-booked him flying into Fort Walton around 7:00 Sunday night though, so I put the kids to bed while David picked him up. We were all under one roof by 9:00ish and ready for the beach!

We did a lot of grocery shopping at grocery chain that is near and dear to our hearts from our Franklin days...Publix!
Sitting on the back porch on morning #1
Going on a little walk and to see the beach for the first time!
Grayson - "I'm so excited, I just can't hide it!"
Checking out the water for the first time!

This little life preserver swimsuit seemed like a good find on clearance at Target for $7.50, but it lasted all of about 10 minutes. It was just too hot and bulky for the beach. Maybe if she was constantly in the water instead of playing in the sand. We should have tried it in the pool, but we have a float for her that we love that it wouldn't really fit in. Oh well!
The kids...

absolutely....
Loved It!!!

Dinner time!
After a great day at the beach and good naps for the kids we got cleaned up and headed out for some seafood. We decided on The Crab Trap because we like it, and because they have a playground!
Our first sunset!
