We got to spread Halloween out over a few days this year. Grayson chose to be a fire man, and Addy was a pumpkin. First, on Saturday night we went to the Germantown Baptist Pumpkin Party with the McSwains. We had no idea how many thousands of people would be there, and it was pretty overwhelming for the adults and the kids! It was still fun though, and Grayson and Madison Claire had a good time playing the games. The highlight for Grayson was seeing an actual fire man and fire truck up close and even getting to sit in the fire truck! It's a great outreach and way to share the gospel for the Church. They had a Christian magic show that we watched, and they boldly shared the message of Jesus' love and forgiveness of sins and salvation. The funny thing was that the magician was the children's minister from David's church in Louisville! He's a wonderful man who knows David's family very well and spoke at David's dad's funeral last year. He's been coming to the Pumpkin Party every year since they started it.
Then on Monday we actually went trick-or-treating with Grayson for the first time! He was a little nervous at first, but got the hang of it pretty quickly. We just went to 8 or 10 houses on our street and met some of the neighbors. It was a fun night with perfect weather!
Thank you to Lauren for actually getting a good family photo!
