Month Five

Grayson is already 5 months old. Incredible! This month we had some very random sleeping. He had some nights of 7 hours up to his record of 9 1/2 hours at the beach, and then he had several nights where he'd wake up every 3 hours. Hopefully we'll get in a predictable rhythm by 6 months! He mostly sleeps on his tummy, and he started rolling from his tummy to his back at 3 months, but this would always wake him up. Now he's learned to roll back onto his tummy. He's also growing like crazy. When we went for his 4 month check-up he'd grown almost 6 inches since he was born! He's still eating every 3 1/2 to 4 hours, but he must be going through a growth spurt here lately, because we've upped the amount, and he's ready to eat by 3 hours. We were so surprised when he got his first two teeth this month (middle two on the bottom). He'll be ready to eat real food very soon.

Grayson is still a very active boy! He's constantly kicking his feet and waving his hands. Now he's really started to become aware of his surroundings. It gets me every time he looks at me across the room and gets a big smile on his face! He checks out everything, and wants to grab everything in reach - this includes mommy's hair mostly, but also faces, fridge magnets, shirt decals, cereal boxes, daddy's glasses, stuffed animals, PUPPY HAIR, the characters on his sheets, the cute wrist rattle from Aunt Cindy and Cousin Collin, and HIS TOES! If he can get these things near his mouth he'll chew on them in a second. He loves sucking/chewing on all his fingers, and he can't wait to get his toes in his mouth. His favorite things are anything ORANGE. He grabs all Tiggers, all David's Auburn apparel (caps, shirts, drink holder), and anything else orange he sees. He's also very vocal! It amazes us how loud and how long he can squeal whether he's in a good mood or bad mood. He also has the cutest little quiet "talk," and he's giggled quite a few times!
