Saying Goodbye

My heart is saddened and joyful at the same time. David's dad passed away at 5:00 am on Thursday. We are all missing him so much and so sad, but at the same time so glad that his earthly pain and struggles are over and he is with Jesus now. David's dad was his hero and his favorite person in the whole world. It is so difficult watching him go through this, but as he says, he's been saying goodbye for a few years now during his dad's decline in health. Luckily the doctors anticipated his final hours, and called all the family to come Wednesday night. David drove up after work and got to spend some time with him before he passed along with his sister and his mom. He came back Thursday afternoon to get Grayson and I, and we all headed back up Friday morning for the visitation Friday and the funeral on Saturday. It was a beautiful service that really was a tribute and celebration of his dad's life and his devotion to serving Jesus and others. I'm so sorry I never got to know him in his earlier years. Because of his military service two soldiers from Fort Knox came to the burial to present his mom with an american flag and to play "Taps." It was very moving. The whole family got to come in for the wedding, and it was a wonderful visit despite the circumstances.

My two handsome men

This is "Prince Grayson" with one of Mrs. Proctor's dear friends. He
was proud as anything to sit on her walker!

Grayson and his cousin Christina or "his girlfriend!"
He was in heaven all weekend with his two cousins holding him.
